What and how to check

1) Internet speed – for maximum quality it should be 40 Mbit/s and higher.

Check how fast the ISP is at your tariff. There is a trick here. Providers increase the speed each year, but they do it only for new customers, so as not to increase the costs for their main audience, which already pays.

If you have not changed the tariff on the Internet for more than 1 year, then with a high probability you can get a significantly higher speed for the same money. To do this, call your Internet service provider and find out at what faster tariff it can move you. You can change the tariff yourself too in the subscriber’s personal account on your provider's website.
However (surprise!) the availability of the speed tariff does not guarantee the real speed! You can learn it empirically by following our instruction. During the test, you will measure the speed of connection with different cities of the world. Most Playkey servers are located in Moscow data centers, but there are servers abroad as well. To conduct speed measurements, open the website speedtest.net and change servers. Details below.

а. Choose a city from the map of Playkey coverage:

  • Moscow

  • London

  • Frankfurt

b. Click "Start" to measure the speed of data exchange with each of the cities. The result should be 40 Mbit/s and higher, otherwise we can not guarantee the maximum quality.

2) The quality of the network in your apartment or house. Make sure that...

  • The computer is connected to the Internet via cable

If there is no router, then the ISP cable should be connected to the computer.

The general connection scheme through the router looks like this:

If you do not have the ability to connect a computer by cable, then read on.

  • You are in direct visibility of your Wi-Fi router

In cities, buildings are a major obstacle to radio signals. Walls, ceilings, furniture, metal doors, etc., located between Wi-Fi devices, can partially or significantly reflect / absorb radio signals, resulting in partial or complete signal loss.

  • The computer is connected to the Internet via a Wi-Fi router at a frequency of 5 GHz

The important feature: the router and the Wi-Fi transmitter on the computer must support operation at a frequency of 5 GHz (802.11n and 802.11ac standards)

How to check the router

First way: check the characteristics of the router on the manufacturer’s website, or find them on the Internet (in Amazon, for example)

Second way: connect to the wireless network of the router from your smartphone and check the frequency in the Wi-Fi connection settings

The third way: connect to the wireless network of the router from the computer and check the frequency in the properties of the wireless connection

How to check the computer

First way: on the website of the manufacturer of your laptop, we are looking for an indication of support for 802.11n, 802.11ac or dual-band Wi-Fi (sometimes 5 GHz\Dual-Band is simply written)

Second way: on the desktop, find the shortcut "My Computer" and click on it with the right mouse button, in the opened menu select "Management"

Find "Device Manager -> Network Adapters", right-click on the Wireless adapter and select "Properties"
Next, go to the "Advanced" tab, where the information on 5 GHz support should be indicated:
